Springfield Armory M1 Garand, with an early WW2 receiver. Serial number 972688 dates to November 1942. This M1 rifle has military parts, of mixed manufacture, detailed below and shown in photos. This is not a reclaimed receiver. No import marks. The stock is new. The gun is in excellent used condition. Bench test of timing and op rod function is excellent. We will lubricate and test fire the rifle if the buyer wants this done.
Sling, two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) and a manual are included.

Receiver: Springfield Armory, marked “D 28291-17” on leg. No pitting. Probably not original finish, and the existing finish shows some wear.
Op rod: International Harvester, marked D-6535382 IHC
Rear sight: lockbar type, Springfield
Bolt: Winchester, marked D282287-W.R.A.
Barrel: Springfield Armory, marked “S-A-8-51”. Measures 1 at muzzle, 3 at throat, bright bore.
Trigger group: housing IHC, hammer WRA, safety SA
Gas cylinder: wide sight base, flat on top of rear ring.
Stock: walnut, new repro, probably Boyd’s although there are no markings. Has a few minor dings.
Handguards: walnut, match to stock
Sling: new repro
