Springfield Armory M1 Garand, produced in 1955. Outstanding example of a later production M1. Serial number 5894218, with a 1955 barrel with a bright bore. The rifle has all postwar Springfield parts. Original finish on the receiver shows just light wear. The stock is in great shape with stars & eagle cartouche and circled "P". All marked parts are detailed below and shown in photos. No import marks. This is not a reclaimed receiver.
Sling, two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) and a manual are included.

heat lot T7. No pitting. Original finish shows a little wear at corners.
Op rod: Springfield Armory, marked 6535382 SA
Rear sight: T105 postwar type, windage
marked “DRC”, elevation “WCE”
Bolt: Springfield Armory, marked 65282287-SA A-10
Barrel: Springfield Armory, marked “SA F6535448 5 55 MD 51” with “M”, proof “P”, stars and eagle, punch mark, and other misc marks. The date and chamber “in the white” indicate that this is the original barrel. ME

Gas cylinder: wide sight base, flat
on top of rear ring.
Trigger group: postwar SA, marked D6528280-SA
Stock and handguards: walnut, no
cracks. Very few dings and gouges, overall extremely nice appearance. Stars and
eagle on left side, circled “P” on pistol grip.
Sling: military, used. Unusual in
that “MRT APR 1952” is legible.
