Ted Williams Model 400 shotgun, 20 Gauge. Serial number S214916, made in the late 1970s. 28 inch fixed choke barrels. Length of pull is 14 inches. (additional specs below)

This shotgun was made by Winchester in Japan for Sears Roebuck stores. It is essentially a copy of the Winchester Model 101 shotgun. Williams, the former major league baseball star, was a spokesman for Sears and his name appeared on several shotguns, rifles and other sporting goods sold by the company in the 1960s and 1970s. The Model 400 is among the rarer Williams models, especially in 20 gauge.

The shotgun features a blued receiver with scroll engraving, blued barrels with vent rib with mid and front bead sights. Chokes are fixed: Full (over) and Modified (under). Single selective trigger, checkered walnut stock and forearm. Vented rubber recoil pad is marked "Ted Williams". The serial number appears on the tang as well as the barrel block and inside the forearm.

This shotgun is in very good used condition. There are a few light scratches on the metal, including one on the left barrel. There is some bluing loss on the bottom of the receiver, probably due to carrying. Stock has no cracks or dings, just some minor handling marks. Bores are mirror bright, lockup is tight, and the gun shoots perfectly, see our video.
