Early WW2 Springfield Armory M1 Garand, with 1950s barrel and new stock. The serial number 1081295 dates to December 1942. The 1955 Springfield barrel has a nice bright bore. This M1 was originally sold through the Civilian Marksmanship Program as a service grade in 2020. This rifle is in excellent used condition and has no import marks. This is not a reclaimed receiver. All parts are military, except for the wood, and are detailed below.
A sling, two M1 clips (no ammo) and manual are included, along with the CMP tag and certificate of authenticity.

SPECS:
Receiver: Springfield Armory, marked “D 28291 17” on leg. Finish, probably not original, has very little wear even at corners. No pitting. This is a “two-tone” receiver – from a WWII heat treatment of the heel by being dipped in hot lead. This produces the dark appearance of the heel.
Barrel: Springfield Armory, marked “SA F6535448 2 55 A217B” in op rod slot with “P”, “M”, and starts and eagles stamp. The bore is bright, crown excellent. Chamber is in the white.

Trigger Housing: HRA, marked 6528290 HRA
Rear sight: T105 postwar type
Gas cylinder and front sight appear to be standard SA
Stock and handguards: A very nice finish was applied to the new CMP walnut stock and handguards, which come unfinished.
Sling: new repro
Bench test of timing and op rod function is excellent. We will lubricate and test fire the rifle if the buyer wants this done.
