1946 Barrel

Availability: SOLD

Springfield Armory M1 Garand, with a mid WW2 era receiver and early postwar barrel, excellent used condition. No import marks. This M1 has all military parts (other than wood) with some manufacturer variation, since it was arsenal rebuilt, most likely around 1946. In arsenal rebuild projects, a batch of guns were disassembled and the parts were refinished together, then the guns were reassembled at random. This is not a problem because all parts are interchangeable.

This Garand originally came from the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP), as a Service Grade rifle. A certificate of authenticity and the original hangtag are included. A very nice grain filled finish was applied to the new CMP walnut stock and handguards, since they come unfinished other than maybe a quick stain. We used our own oil sanding method first to fill the grain, then multiple satin clear coats for a vastly improved appearance.

The gun will ship in the case pictured. In addition to the CMP paperwork, a manual, sling and two enbloc clips are included.
