Remington Nylon 66 semi-auto .22LR caliber rifle. This one is the Apache Black/Chrome combination. Serial number 4415xx dates to 1968.

Remington made about one million of these guns in the 1960s-1980s, but less than 20% were Apache Black. The Nylon series rifles (stock and receiver) were made out of plastic, Dupont's "Zytel" Nylon. The receiver cover, barrel and sights are metal. The rifle weighs just 4 pounds. The gun has a 19 5/8 inch barrel, fixed front and adjustable rear sights and a tube magazine that holds 14 rounds of .22 long rifle cartridges.

We have sold several Nylons over the years, but rarely have they been in such excellent condition. The chrome on the barrel and receiver cover looks just about new, no pitting or scratches. Bore is very nice with sharp riflings. The stock is excellent overall but there is an area of very light surface scratches on the right buttstock, they are visible only under bright light, they don't really show in photos. Otherwise the stock shows no dings or cracks. Checkering is sharp. The Remington factory lifetime replacement guarantee label is still on the stock.

We have test fired the gun and it operates perfectly.

The original manual is included. It is intact but shows some stains (see photo).
