Late WWII production Inland Division General Motors M1 .30 Carbine.  Serial number 51490xx, manufactured 1944. Inland barrel, bolt, slide and other small parts, others are mixed manufacturers.

This carbine is in excellent used condition, with far above average bore. No import marks. All metal except springs has been reparkerized. No metal parts were ever pitted.

The carbine has been test fired and functions perfectly.

Sling, oiler and two magazines are included. 15 round USGI and one repro mag, buyer choice of 15 or 30 round.




Receiver: March- Aug 1944. No pitting.

Barrel: Inland, marked INLAND MFG. DIV. GENERAL MOTORS 44 and proof mark P. Bore is bright like new (see bore photo), exterior and crown excellent. Muzzle Wear reading: 1/4

Front sight: marked N, Inland

Rear sight: adjustable, milled, marked PI, Inland

Bolt: round, marked A.I., Inland

Firing pin: marked WS, Standard Products

Extractor: late type flat lip, marked W.I., Inland

Barrel band: bayonet lug type, marked JM

Trigger housing: forged type, Inland logo in left side. Marking is extremely light, hard to see even with a flashlight.

Trigger: marked W, Winchester

Safety: rotary

Operating slide: marked PI inside, Inland, M2 type. Also marked outside D 7161843

Hammer: straight, marked UC

Sear: marked RIA, M2 type

Magazine catch: 30-round type, M

Recoil plate: marked SG, Saginaw Gear

Stock: walnut, oval cut low wood, NOT M2 type. Marked in sling well BR-B, IBM. Crossed cannons barely visible on right side, 79 stenciled on pistol grip. .U. on left side (underwood rebuild mark). No cracks, fewer than average dings/scratches, very nice appearance. Has small crack next to recoil plate, which our gunsmith has stabilized - it will not crack further.

Handguard: walnut, two rivets, unmarked. Looks to us like a commercial replacement, good match to stock

Buttplate: unmarked, square checkering pattern

Magazine: 15-round, parkerized, marked U, Underwood

Sling and oiler: new repro
