HRA M1 Garand, serial number 5582966, manufactured in 1955. This rifle is in excellent+ used condition, a terrific example of a postwar M1. The rifle appears to have all its original parts including LMR barrel. Wood appearance is outstanding. All parts are detailed below and shown in pictures. No import marks.


Sling, manual and two M1 clips (no ammo) are included.


Parts were clean for photos, coated with oil and greased where appropriate when reassembled. Bench test of timing and op rod function is excellent. We will test fire the rifle if the buyer wants this done.


Gun will ship in a hard, foam lined case.

SPECS:


Receiver: marked “6528291” on leg. Original finish, no pitting, very little wear even at corners. Marked on top with serial number and “U.S. RIFLE CAL. 30 M1 H. & R. ARMS CO.”.

Barrel: marked “LMR D6535448 1 55 A40” with proof mark “P”, “M” punch mark, and several misc. markings. Bore, crown and rifling are excellent. Chrome pads at gas port, chamber in the white. MW: 2, TE: 3

Barrel band: two-piece flat top with roll pin

Clip latch: late square front type

Op rod: flat side marked “6535382 HRA.”

Bullet guide: stamped with notch

Follower: late type, unmarked

Follower arm: no bevel

Follower rod: long fork, riveted

Bolt: marked “6528287-HRA .U.”

Rear sight: T105 postwar type, elevation knob marked “HRA”, windage marked “HRA-W”

Rear sight cover: late type with ribs

Rear sight aperture: double track

Trigger housing:  marked “6528290-HRA N”

Trigger guard: WWII SA milled type

Safety: marked “HRA”

Hammer: marked “HRA 5546008”

Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring

Front sight: .68 wide

Gas cylinder lock: postwar “high hump” type

Gas cylinder screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “HRA” and there is a small circle

Stock: walnut, HRA with small stars and eagle, unserif circle “P” on pistol grip. Extremely nice appearance, far fewer than average dings and gouges. No cracks, even the inside of this stock looks exceptional.

Handguards: walnut, no cracks , exactly the same condition and appearance as the stock.

Sling: used GI with some obscured markings, probably “MRT” etc
