Fox/Savage Sterlingworth 12 Gauge

Price: $695.00
Item Number:FW01294

Fox/Savage Sterlingworth side by side 12 Gauge shotgun.  Serial number 130569 dates to 1932.

This shotgun is all original with the exception of the Pachmyr rubber buttpad. We estimate the gun retains about 50% of its original finish (bluing and case coloring). There are some scratches on the barrel. The stock has no cracks and the checkering is still fairly sharp. There are quite a few dings in the wood, to be expected in an 80 plus year old gun. Pistol grip cap is broken (see photo). Bores are excellent, no pitting. Lockup is tight.

Barrels are 30 inches, with solid rib and mid and front bead sight. The shotgun has fixed chokes: modified in the right barrel, full in the left. Length of pull is 14 5/8 inches with the rubber pad on. The shotgun features double triggers.

This Fox model was made by Savage Arms as they acquired the Fox company in 1930. The top of the barrel is marked "Made by Savage Arms Corp Utica N.Y. U.S.A." and "Sterlingworth Fluid Compressed Steel".  "Fox Sterlingworth" is marked on both sides of the receiver. The serial number appears in four places: behind the trigger guard, inside the handguard, underneath the barrels and inside the receiver.
