Colt Detective Special First Issue Made in 1934

Pre-War Colt Detective Special, serial number 425341, made in 1934. 

This is a first issue Detective, blued, with a 2 inch barrel. Half moon front sight and notched rear sight. Serrated trigger, hammer and cylinder latch. Cylinder holds 6 rounds of .38 Special. 

The left side of the barrel reads "38 DETECTIVE SPECIAL". The right side of the barrel reads "COLT'S PT FA MFG CO. HARTFORD CT USA", followed by "PAT D AUG 5, 1884 JULY 4, 1905 OCT 5, 1926". Wood grips with Colt medallions have the serial number printed inside.

This snub nose revolver is in very good used condition. It shows its age, with bluing loss and some areas of light pitting. We estimate bluing at 90%. Bore is bright with sharp riflings. Grips show no cracks or dings, just expected wear from age. The gun has been test fired.

The Colt Factory box is included, in fair to good used condition. We believe it is original to the gun. There are faint numbers on the bottom that look like the start of the serial number, but we can't be certain. A name is hand printed in ink on the bottom (one time owner we presume). Labels on the side are "Detective Special", with "Colt's Police Positive Revolver Special" below.  Also included is a Colt Shooting Guide.
