Arsenal Rebuild with 1952 Barrel
Item Number: FW20261543
Availability: SOLD.

Springfield Armory M1 Garand, serial number 1722256 dates to July 1943. This rifle is in excellent used condition. Metal parts, all military, are of mixed manufacture. This is most likely an arsenal rebuild. It was sold through the Civilian Marksmanship Program as a Service Grade in 2012, blue hang tag is included.

A manual, sling and two M1 clips (no ammo) are also included.

Bench test of timing and op rod function is excellent. We will lubricate and test fire the rifle if the buyer wants this done.

C & R Eligible

SPECS:

Receiver: Springfield Armory, marked “D 28291 27” on leg. Finish appears original with some wear at corners. No pitting. This is a “two-tone” receiver – from a WWII heat treatment of the heel by being dipped in hot lead. This produces the dark appearance of the heel.

Rear sight: T105 postwar type

Bolt: Winchester, marked "28287-1  W.R.A."

Barrel: Springfield, marked “S-A 1-52” in op rod slot. The bore is bright, but not mirror bright. CMP tag says ME 2+ TE 3+ however it measures right at 2 and 3 on our gauges.

Op Rod: Springfield, marked "D35382 SA"

Gas cylinder and front sight appear to be standard SA

Walnut stock is arsenal replacement with uncircled “P”. No cracks, about average dings and gouges. Handguards are also walnut no cracks, a little nicer than the stock.
