Stock: The straight grip walnut stock and splinter forend have no cracks
or repairs. The stock is “taller” than most, although drop at comb and heel is
about average, has a leather covered recoil pad, and a striking amount of
cast-off – a bend to the right. We shoot trap with standard Browning BT-99’s
(right handed) and expected this gun to put our eyes out of alignment with the
rib, but it doesn’t. The cast-off puts the recoil pad more toward the shoulder
joint than our Brownings, and that is all. We tried some low-gun practice with
the Orvis (which does not go well with our factory stocks) and it works much
better than the 99’s – it pops right into position. This gun will fit some
people, not others. See our video for more on this gun.
