­HRA M1 Garand 5637xxx, made around 1955. HRA 5-55 barrel with a like new bore. No import marks. All marked parts are HRA.

This M1 is in excellent used condition. The rifle was clean and lubricated when we got it, so a complete teardown was not necessary. All parts are shown in the photos, partially assembled.

The gun has been test fired and shoots great. Watch our video.

Sling noted below and two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) are included.

HRA M1 sn 5637xxx Specs:

 

Receiver: marked “6528291” on leg, heat lot S. Excellent condition, no pitting, very little finish wear even at corners.

Barrel: marked “HRA 6535448 5 55 RS52” in op rod slot, “P” with punch mark, “M”, “X” and stars and eagle stamp. Chrome pads at gas port. Bore is bright like new, rifling mint. Crown excellent, chamber in the white. External finish is in exc. condition, no pitting.

Lower band: two piece flat top with roll pin

Barrel Gauge Measurements: Muzzle Wear (MW): 1, Throat Erosion (TE): 2

Clip latch: square front type, unmarked

Op rod: flat side, marked “6535382 HRA.”, excellent condition, very little finish wear.

Op rod catch: HRA/SA/IHC type, unmarked

Bullet guide: stamped with notch, unmarked

Follower: late type, unmarked

Follower arm: no bevel, unmarked

Follower rod: long fork, riveted, unmarked

Bolt: marked “6528287 HRA U”

Elevation knob: marked “HRA”

Windage knob: marked “DRC”

Rear sight base: late SA/HRA type, unmarked

Rear sight aperture: SA/HRA type, double track

Trigger housing:  marked “6528290-HRA-N”. Small pad, cloverleaf hole

Trigger guard: stamped with stamped hook

Trigger: late type, no extra hole

Hammer: marked “HRA 5546008”

Hammer spring plunger: late type without wings

Safety: round top, marked “HRA”

Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring. Gas cylinder group finish is in very good condition, a few light scratches.

Front sight: 0.68 wide, unmarked

Gas cylinder lock: late “high hump” type, unmarked

Gas cylinder lock screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “HRA”

Stock: walnut, HRA as shown by the shape of the “horseshoe”. 1/2” DAS (stars and eagle) on left side, circled “P” on pistol grip. No cracks or repairs, about average dings/scratches, nice appearance

Front handguard: walnut, has small crack at the rear that our gunsmith has stabilized with special glue that wicks up into the crack.

Rear handguard: walnut, no cracks. Both handguards in the same condition as stock, good color match.

Buttplate: round plunger postwar type, good condition with finish wear.

Sling: used, common web type, looks about the same age as the rifle
